Sweet kid

Went to have lunch with Ben today at school. I sat and waited for him. When he walked by, I called to him, he screamed momma. And ran over to see me. I showed him that I had bought him a kids meal from sonic and had it in front of me, and he ran around the table saying he wanted t sit next to me. While eating he kept calling to his friends "Eli this is my mom" "Hunter my mom is here" And he kept giving me side hugs.

He was definitely very happy. I'll have to make sure to go eat with him more often.

Then later that day, my mom told me something he had said to her. This is the conversation:

"Grandmom, why is your TV stand so dusty"
"Because Grandmom's back hurts and can't bend down that low to clean it, and I haven't asked anyone to do it for me"
"Well, i'll clean it for you, I really like doing things or people that can't do things for themselves. It makes me feel good and it makes them feel good"

Let's say it together "Ahhhhhhh......"

Long day.

So, today felt like a long day with Ben.

We went out shopping with Grandmom and hung around the house. Doing chores, working on his reading and writing and making treats. All day long, TALKING AND TALKING AND TALKING. And not listening. It gets tiring telling the boys something 3 times because they don't listen.

He is doing much better learning his sight words. And is right along with his writing.

He kept putting off cleaning his room, saying he would clean it after dinner. And since we had a late lunch we had a late dinner. And then was "too tired" to eat, because he didn't get something he wanted. So, then we had to have a little crying time, since it was bedtime. And he wanted to sleep in the big bed, but of course couldn't

So, while he was not bad today and has actually been crying less. It was a very draining day at the same time.

Tomorrow is going to be another day of lots of activities, but hopefully it will be a little less stressful.

Christmas

Just wanted to update everyone on Ben's Christmas. Of course he wanted everything he saw in toy magazines.

Ben went to bed around 9 after he put out milk and cookies that he made with grandmom. He also sprinkled reindeer food outside.

Ben woke up at 7:30 and proceeded to tell me, I didn't hear the reindeer but I know they came. Then after that he sat down and WATCHED TV!!!

what 5 year old is not ready to rip into their presents????

Grandmom told me later, she got up at around 5:30 and wondered if she could quickly get in the shower before Ben woke up. Well, obviously she had plenty of time.

Anyways, he did eventually start opening presents and had a great time. He loved everything he got. And actually took time to look at most of what he got after he opened it. He had probably 6 presents left, and while daddy was taking out one toy from the packaging Ben said
"I got everything I want, and I still have more gifts" It was soooooo sweet.

He got everything army and dinosaurs. This is always the bad thing about his birthday and christmas being close. Everyone over does it for xmas, and then there is no room left for his birthday.

Ok, So, I asked Ben to clean his room for a little while before we had dinner, and he picked up two things and asked if he could be done. I told him to do so more. And he got upset and threw a toy. So, I took the toy, because he has been told that throwing his toys is not acceptable. He got all mad and the conversation went like this:

your going to take all my toys.

If you throw them all, then yes I will take them all.

if you take all my toys, IM GOING TO BE A LONELY BOY.

well then dont throw all your toys.

I am going to run away.

I hope you don't run away.

I am going to go to Carvers house.

Ok, if you think that is right, we will miss you.


So, I go downstairs and talk to grandmom, and he comes in a throws himself on the floor and after we ignore his babyness he slides underneath grandmoms bed. So, I proceed to slightly bounce up and down and he says.

"your going to make me dead"

now of course that is not what I was doing, and it sounds kind of mean, it was actually very funny.




Grandmom told me how they were having a conversation in the car and how Ben said

you know some people have step moms.

Yes, I know.

You know, I have a step mom.

Yes, I know. grandmom assumed she knew what he was referring too but after a few mins she asked.


Who is your step mom?

I don't know.

Saturday 11/26

Today me and grandmom ginny went to the store to buy a little boy whose family doesn't have a lot of money christmas presents. we bought him cars and trucks, shoes, pants, shirts, and underwear. I learned that it is nice to do nice things for other people that don't have as much.

when we got back mommy and me got to ride our bikes and play at the school park.

Friday 11/25

My new baby Kendew was born today. Daddy told me he was 6 lbs and 6 oz. Mommy says that is a small baby. I can't wait to see him soon. Garyn is so lucky to have a new baby brother!

Ben's Sweetness 8/14/06

So, Me and Ben went over to Cousin Leanne's house this morning. Leanne wasn't feeling well, and was laying down in bed. So, Ben went into her room and read her a story. She complained that it wasn't the right story. But, as a mom, I was very proud of him!

No Training Wheels

Well, Ben has been riding without training wheels for over a month. But this is the first chance I have had to post pictures.

I didn't take him long to pick it up. And I don't think he has but one accident.

We had to retire his cool motorcycle bike that grandma and grandpa got him, because he got too big and his knee pads got caught in the handle bars while he was learning to ride.

Big Boy

Geeezzz..... Ben doesn't fit in the size 8 PANTS grandma got him today. Think we are going to have to go to Old Navy to get him some husky. Which is sad b/c he's not overweight.

Gotta give the size 8 to a friend's 9 YEAR OLD SON!!!

Kindergarden Ben

Well you can't really read his Report card, but he is doing just fine. And this is his school picture. We aren't ordering any because all their packages were way to expensive and didn't give good sized pics. So, let me know if you want one and you can photoshop it. And then you could even send it to me, because I don't have the time to photoshop it, even if I had the program.

So, Ben had a busy weekend. First it was to his friends Aliane's birthday, where they jumped and slide down the blowup contraptions. They got to make their own little Pizza and he had part of the home made Chocolate Hello Kitty cake and vanilla Ice cream.

Then Ben got to go to a kid friendly cook out/bon fire with his Aunt Melissa and Cousin Leanne. He told me he ate marshmellows and winnies!

And on Sunday after he got home from going to church with his Aunt and Cousin he got to go to Hunter's Awsome party. They also had a blow up obsticle course thing, carnival games and prizes, cotton candy, pop corn and hot dogs.
It was a little cold, but Ben had a blast.

Then back home for some much needed rest and a little bike riding with Daddy.

10/9/06

Well,when Ben got home from school today I looked at his school papers. He didn't do as great as I know he can do, because I didn't realize last week that the even were starting to do homework. So, I am making up for lost time and being a slacker mommy.Any ways. we worked on what come First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth. And after awhile it was going alright, but it was getting late and after asking him many times to say FOURTH and not THOURTH, I finally told him that was enough for tonight. Well he thought he was in trouble and started crying how he didn't want to stop because "he hadn't learned everything he wanted to learn" It was kind of cute. But then he started crying and yelling. So I left the room and went to talk to my mom, and he came down the hall yelling "YOUR BEING MEAN TO ME, YOU WON'T LET ME LEARN, I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU ANYMORE" So, since he back talks like that ALL the time, I decided that was enough sent him to his room and told him it was bedtime. After finally calming him down and talking about it, I told him. "its not nice to tell someone your never going to talk to someone again, especially when you know you WILL talk to them, and that you should say, I don't want to talk to you right now, because I am upset" So I tucked him into bed and was about to head downstairs, and he said "mommy, I want to tell you something." He comes to the stairs and says "I just..... wanted to..... tell you.... that next time... i'll say that I'm upset....... hdakd..... ikdal... I couldn't make out the rest, but it was sooooo sweet I just wanted to cry.

the ZOO

Me and momme went to the ZOO today. I had so much fun. We were supposed to go C the mommies at some museum, but when we got there momme said the line was WAY tooooo long because it was the last day for all the Egiptian stuff.
so we got 2 go 2 the zoo. my favoritist parts were the alligators outside. i also saw some monkeys camals llamas snakes lizards fish zebras birds ostradges and a white tigerrr climing a tree.
i realy wantd to C the elefants but when we got there, i didnt C NE. i think they were in the forest. Momme said that maybe we will C them next time.
after we got done looking at all the animals, i got to play on the humongous playground. after that we left and i got to get chik-file' because i got a coupon from sckool for being such a big helper.

Daddy is good.

Not only did Daddy go to the office today for mommy, giving her a break. But he also bought me and MOMMY new bikes. Now we can all go riding as a family.

I also learned how to play the card game WAR. I beat mommy 4 times and daddy beat me once!

Well its been a long weekend, and I am ready to go back to school tomorrow!

Me and my mom took Leanne and Ben to CEC yesterday (and met leanne's parents) to celebrate them being kindergardeners. Ben had a blast. He played in the toons, rode some rides, and played some games. He ate 3 or 4 pieces of pizza. While the adults were talking we realized Ben had been gone for awhile, and he wasn't in the tubes and didn't have any coins left. So, we found out he was making friends and getting his new "friends" to give him tokens. Sooooo funny. I need him to make friends at walmart and Toys R Us.

On the drive home my mom said that ben said he liked his school bc his "school is special" and he had a "special day today because he got to walk home"

2nd Full day of school

Well, its the morning of the second day and I have a feeling he may be staying home tomorrow. He is getting a cold. I can't remember a time when he has had a cold. He doesn't even know how to blow his nose because he has never had to have his nose blown. He has to take a recommended dosage of meds. for a 9yr old since he weighs 62lbs. That is kind of funny. But 9yr olds are supposed to take 2 1/2 teaspoons, and I only gave him 2.

He is already turning into a typical kid. He didn't have much to say about the day. Except that in music class he got to play the drums and that they worked on letters and numbers.

Hopefully he will give me a little more this afternoon.

tonight's sayings

Well Ben had a rough day today. but a much better night. He said alot of cute things today.

Me and Ben were coloring and he told me "that looks pretty good." and then he said his looked bad and I said "no it doesnt, it looks good too" and he replied "why thank you."

Also while we were coloring he all of a sudden got up and headed towards the kitchen, I asked him where he was going and he said "I'm going to go check on Ginny's back."

Then towards bedtime I went upstairs and asked Michael if I coild watch TV upstairs and he said mabe and Ben said
"you better let her watch" daddy said "oh really" then Ben said with his hands on his hips "you heard me"

HARD TIME

So, Ben stayed here with Grandma, while Michael and I went to Shelbyville for the Auction (we won't go into what a #@%*%*# waist of time that was). When we got back home. He was having some problems listening and would fall straight to the floor. Then a little later came down and showed me a picture on the back of something he wasn't supposed to be coloring on. When I asked why he colored on it, he immediately hel to the ground again.

Later in the day, Carver came over and asked to play. I said he couldn't today, but maybe tomorrow. Carver asked if he could come watch the fireworks his family bought that night. I said sure, and told Ben, that he needed to be good the rest of the day. Not ten min. later he asked if he could go next door to see what they bought. I told him no, and he immediate started crying. Then he went outside, and you could her him calling over the fence for Carver. Little while later he asked if he could go jump on the trampoline, bc its not in the fence and he could see Carver, I told him no again, so he turned around and bent sooooo low (where he was touching his toes), and trying sooo hard not to fall on the floor. Then daddy knew he was just having a hard time, and asked if he wanted to play with him. He said yes, and they were in the kitchen and Ben wanted something to drink, michael opened the dishwasher and ben pulled out a big cup and daddy said "No, you need to use this little cup" and Ben said "I don't want it then" and then went to the stairs and started balling.

But then 5 mins later he comes and is being all lovey dovey to daddy. And its only 5:00. Hopefully the day gets better.

2nd half day of school

Today I did alot at school. I glued different things on a gingerbread man. I fingerpainted and painted a picture of water with a paint brush. I didn't give my milk money to the teacher so I had to drink my lunch's drink on milk break and had to drink water at lunch time. The older kids were so loud the electricity went out. We sang Jack and Jill and got to play on the little playground. I don't like that playground, its too small, I want to play on the big playground.

mommy picked me up in the yellow car. And we went to shovleville so mommy could finish painting. Because I was so good i got a strawberry and banana smothie at sonic. Daddy read me a story and that was the end of the day.

Thur. 24 2006

So, today me and mommy had to take grandma to the doctor to get a shot to hopefully help her back. And while we waited me and mommy went to Home Depot to get some paint. Of course I got a green mickey mouse color sample. When we got home, mommy got ready to go to shelbyville to paint some things before our auction on Sat. She let me stay home with grandma and wait for Carver to get home from school.

I argued with mom and didn't listen when she told me I had to wait till Carver got home and I slammed my bedroom door. So, mommy told me I won't be able to play with Carver this weekend. And I only can play with him today because Grandma needs to rest her back.

I played with Carver for about 3 hours and when mommy came home she brought Burger King. And after I took my bath mommy counted that I got 50 BUG BITES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And BOY do they ITCH!!!!!!

Daddy watched me make my lunch and read me a Bearinstien Bears Book. And now its 8:40 and I am off to bed!

MORE SAYINGS AS THEY COME

Lots of Errands Today

Today me and mommy had alot of errands to run. First I got up REAL early because I had to go to work with grandmom, while mommy went on an interview with BABYS R US. Mommy got offered the job but declined to take it because it didn't pay enough. So, while I was at grandma office, I had to be very quiet and it was really boring. I worked on my letters a little bit, and this man came in and told me that my letters were better than his first grader. I knew I was smart.

Then mommy took me to two stores to make returns and then we went to walmart to get some food and then back to grandma's office to give her some flowers.

Back at home we had pizza for lunch and I watched two short movies, then off to play with Carver for about 4 hours.

We had Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green beans for dinner with green Kool Aide.

Me and mommy played my LeapFrog and after I watch some toons I am sure daddy will read me a story and tuck me into bed.

First Day Of Fall Ball Practice

Well, this was my first day back on ball practice. I had a hard time concentrating in the spring/summer. But today I made a much better effort. I payed attention and got to play catcher for a little while. I hit the ball off the tee about 4 or 5 times. And was in the front of the line when running around the bases in the beginning, and then got passed up. But I tried my hardest. I have the same coach and we are the white sox again. Hope we win alot of games this time.

First Day of Kindergarden

Ben started kindergarten today. Last night he made his lunch all by himself; including spreading the mayo on his bologna and cheese sandwhich. He was up and dressed at 7:15, and school doesn't start until 8:30. When I dropped him off in the classroom he was looping fruit loops on a gingerbread necklace. I picked him up at 1:00. He said "I was really smart". He told me how they made a gingerbread man and how he escaped and the class had to go to the nurses and principles' office, library, and gym looking for the missing man. They ended up back in class where Ben says he "ate the head, arms, and foot" He didn't eat his apples at milk break. And supposidely two boys were fighting to sit next to him at lunch time. And he said he "yelled at them and told them to calm down." He told me that they didn't get to go outside today. And that he liked Ms. Tant the most.Today, he met with all the teachers, to be evalutated and will be seperated into their permenant class rooms next Friday.He came home to a "Bens a Kindergartener now" cake from Grandma Ginny.It's 4 hours later and he has already asked when next friday is, and when I told him it's not for 6 more days he replied: "I want to go to kindergarten now."
